A 140-Year Tradition of Excellence

The Legacy of AlBohsali Sweets

Founded in Beirut, Lebanon, AlBohsali Sweets has been a pioneer in Mediterranean confections for over a century. In the late 19th century, master pâtissier Saadeddine Bohsali established one of the first Mediterranean sweets companies in the Middle East, originally named “Saadeddine Bohsali & Sons.” His factory and shop in Union Square—now Martyrs’ Square—became synonymous with excellence

The Saadeddine Bohsali Legacy

Saadeddine Bohsali was a visionary—passionate, hardworking, and deeply knowledgeable in his craft. His commitment to quality earned him a widespread reputation, and Beirut’s central role in the Middle East helped propel his sweets to regional prominence.

The AlBohsali Story

AlBohsali Sweets quickly became one of the most revered and elegant purveyors of Mediterranean pastries. Traditional delicacies such as Baklava, Maamoul, and Kenafeh have long been staples of Lebanese and Middle Eastern households, with families priding themselves on their artisanal quality. Saadeddine Bohsali, with the support of his sons, expanded his offerings to more than 30 varieties, refining each recipe to perfection.

His dedication to excellence extended far beyond Lebanon—AlBohsali sweets were enjoyed in palaces and courts, including that of the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Expansion and Modern-Day Presence

In 1966, Saadeddine’s son, Mounir, along with his own sons, opened a new factory and outlet under the name “AlBohsali” in Riad El Solh Square, Beirut’s emerging commercial and financial hub. Determined to uphold his father’s legacy, Mounir perfected every product associated with the AlBohsali name. Today, the company continues to operate from the same factory established over 55 years ago, carrying forward its commitment to authentic, handcrafted Mediterranean sweets.
